BuzzMem - Memory Helper

BuzzMem - Memory Helper

Is your Mac dragging and you don’t know why? BuzzMem is a little bee that lives in your menu bar. One number tells you if your Mac has enough memory. One clear next step tells you what to do about it.

Requirements

macOS 26 or later. Works on Macs with Apple silicon and Intel.

FAQ

How do I open BuzzMem? Click the BuzzMem icon in the menu bar at the top right of your screen (it shows the current memory pressure as a percentage), or press Control + Option + M (default shortcut). BuzzMem lives in the menu bar and doesn’t appear in the Dock.

What do green, orange, and red mean?

  • Green (Running smoothly): you have enough memory. You’re good.

  • Orange (Getting tight): memory is getting tight. Close a few apps you’re not using.

  • Red (Running low): memory is running low and your Mac will slow down. Close some apps.

Why does "Clean caches" ask me to allow a folder? To protect your files, macOS requires your permission before an app can read a folder. The first time, a window appears. Just click Allow. BuzzMem only cleans the Caches folder inside Library and never touches your documents or photos.

Is cleaning caches safe? Yes. Caches are temporary files apps keep to speed things up. Apps rebuild them when needed, so nothing breaks.

Will "Find large files" delete my files? Not on its own. It lists files over 300 MB in the folder you choose. Files are moved to the Trash only after you select and confirm them, so you can always get them back.

How do I open BuzzMem at login? Click the gear at the top right of the panel and turn on "Open at login."

Do tips unlock any features? No. Every feature in BuzzMem is free, with no ads and no subscriptions. Tips are simply a way to support future updates.

How do I get a refund for a tip? Tips are paid through Apple, so Apple handles refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and choose the tip you want to refund.

Does BuzzMem collect my data? No. Everything stays on your Mac. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I uninstall BuzzMem? Click the gear, then "Quit BuzzMem" at the bottom. Then drag BuzzMem from your Applications folder to the Trash.
